About me

A person-first approach to meaningful change.

I’m Dr. Daniel Lydon. I bring warmth, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit to the work we do together.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who works with older adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating a wide range of emotional challenges. I am passionate about helping individuals and couples. My areas of specialty include anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship problems, communication difficulties, and adjustment to complex medical conditions, including cancer and other significant health challenges.

Throughout my career, I have practiced psychotherapy across outpatient, inpatient, and integrated healthcare settings throughout New York, including NYU Langone, Zucker Hillside Hospital, St. John’s University Center for Psychological Services, and Nassau University Medical Center.

At the heart of my work is the belief that people are remarkably capable of growth, resilience, and meaningful change. I aim to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel understood, respected, and accepted, while also being thoughtfully challenged to move toward the life they want to build. While I take therapy seriously, I also enjoy using metaphors, humor, and even the occasional pop culture reference to make complex ideas more relatable, engaging, and memorable.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy sports, music, comedy, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
